A Mother's Heart

If your heart is breaking over a wayward child, don't give up hope. God loves that child more than you do and he or she is not out of His reach.

Enclosed are some instructions on how to pray for your child along with Bible verses to read, believe and memorize. Hope in these promises from God.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith The LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

A Mother's Hope

Promises from The Word of God to strengthen and encourage the brokenhearted.

Isaiah 41:13 Fear not; I will help thee.

Your Connection with God

God is holy and cannot be in the presence of sin.

Revelations 4:8 Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty..

In order for sinful mankind to approach Him, he must be cleansed from sin. This can only take place through the precious blood of His Son Jesus Christ. He, Who was sinless, left Heaven and came to this sinful earth to pay for the sins of the world.

Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

The first step to take in order to have a walk with God is admit that you are a sinner who needs a Savior.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

The payment required for sin is death, which was provided by Jesus Christ, The Son of God. However, it is each man's choice to receive or reject His death on the cross as payment for his sin. If this gift from God is received, one then has access to God and can call on Him in times of trouble. If this gift is rejected, one must pay for his own sins, eternally separated from God in a place of torment.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of The Lord shall be saved.

Has there been a time in your life when you agreed with God about your lost spiritual condition? If you recall that time when you asked Him to forgive your sins and be your Savior, then you have access to Him through prayer. If you have not done this, you can do it now, right where you are. He loves both you and your child so much and wants to help you both.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Verse 17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

Promises from God

Allowing a child to make mistakes, especially when his or her desire is to go into a lifestyle that is contrary to all you know to be right, is one of the most difficult things a parent must do. You have done so much: you have loved them through sickness and pain. There is one thing, however, that you cannot do for them; you cannot make

them want a relationship with God, their Maker. God wants them to make this choice.

Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart.

God will turn no one away who sincerely cries out to Him for forgiveness of sins.

John 6:37 ..him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.

The Bible teaches us in Proverbs 13:5 that the way of the transgressor is hard. In these hard times, God waits to do a work in their heart. Enabling them and continually rescuing them will only prolong this time of training. Through this time of testing, your walk with God is vital, for you as well as for the wayward child. He needs to see your consistent walk with The Lord. As you are faithful in prayer, Bible reading and attending worship services, you can hope in these words..

Psalm 42:11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him,..

This is a promise from God, Who never lies. His promises are strong and sure. You will have cause to praise Him.

Believe His promises, remember them and when doubt comes, quote them to yourself.

Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
